3 Nephi Chapter 1

Summary:   Nephi (the son of Helaman) departs out of the land of gives all the records to his son, Nephi to take care of. Nephi (the father) is never heard from again. Nephi the son, take possession of the records. People begin to realize that the prophecies of old are coming true. But there are still unbelievers who say that Samuel the Lamanites prophecies had not come true - and so this emboldened them to not only continue but increase their wicked behavior and they make a plan to slay the believers. Nephi (the son) bows down and prays for his people. The Lord responds and tell Nephi that the sign of Christ's birth is coming. The sign arrives, a day with no night and a new star appears in the sky. Throughout the next few years, many are converted and baptized, but also the dissenters grow stronger and larger in number.
