Alma Chapter 46
Summary:
Amalickiah, the leader of the dissenters of the church, desires to be king and begins to stir up the people against the church. Captain Moroni see this and a piece of his coat and write on it "In memory of our God, our religion and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children", places on a pole and raises it up. He calls the pole with the banner the "title of liberty"." He rallies the believers to defend their religion. They take up the name of Christians because they are believers in Christ. Amalickiah is surprised by the number of people who significantly outnumber him and his followers, therefore, he flees the land with the followers. Moroni chase these people with his army and only a few (Amalickiah and a few followers) escape. All the others are brought back and told to covenant with the title or liberty. Many do but some do not and they are put to death.
