1 Nephi Chapter 9

Summary:   Nephi is commanded by the Lord to make two separate sets of plates (one would be the small plates of Nephi and the other the large plates of Nephi)- See Other Information/Appendices - Book of Mormon Characteristics. The small plates would primarily contain the "ministry of the people" and the other would be an account of the reign of the kings and the wars and contention among the people.
