Mosiah Chapter 19

** IMPORTANT NOTE ** The record of Zeniff, comprising of Mosiah Chapters 9-22, is the first major flashback in the Book of Mormon and is about Zeniff and his people. This was hinted about in Mosiah Chapter 7 when Ammon finds King Limhi, the grandson of Zeniff. This record is an account of the people of Zeniff from the time they left the land of Zarahemla until the time they were discovered by Ammon and then in Chapter 22, when Ammon and King Limhi plot to get the people out of bondage from the Lamanites.

The record of Zeniff is one of the flashbacks in the Book of Mormon. To see and understand these flashbacks see Outlying the Flashbacks in the Book of Mormon

Gideon pursues him. The king goes to the tower near the temple and as he looks over the land, the Lamanites were coming to slay the the king and his people. After fleeing with many men, the men rebel against the king and kill him by fire. Limhi, son of the king Noah makes a pact with the Lamanite King that if he allows the people to live, they will serve him and give him half of all their possessions. Limhi rules for two years.

Lessons Taught/To be Learned:

Back in Chapter 17, Abinadi had prophesied that King Noah would die the same excruciating death that he did, death by fire. In this chapter we see that Abinadi's prophesy comes true showing that he was a true prophet of God.
